Heat stroke in dogs is caused mainly due to the increase in body temperature of dogs. This can even end fatal if it is not been treated properly. This is caused mostly during the summer season. The dogs must be monitored carefully that they do have sufficient shelter and adequate water to drink mainly during hot days. Temperature must be closely monitored. Their normal temperature will be 101 degree F to 102 degree F. Generally dogs have the tendency to regulate their body temperature by panting, expelling heat out. But when the dogs fail to expel heat then their body temperature rises sharply when it hits 108 degree F then it will lead to heart, brain, liver, kidney, the intestinal tracts starts to begin breaking down at a cellular level. Even when the dog left cooped in hot car will surely lead to death.

The early symptoms of heat stroke in dogs are rapid breathing, dry mouth and nose, rapid heart rate, red gums. The best way to prevent the dogs from heat stroke is to use molded plastic pools and sprinklers. These molded plastic pools are great for cooling hot dogs and keep them off from heat. During emergency first aid for heat stroke can be done by applying Ice packs in the areas underneath the front legs for rapid cooling and enough water should be given to dog to wet their mouth and throat. If the dog comes to the normal temperature cooling process should be stopped immediately because very low temperature will also lead to danger.
