SIGNS OF HEAT STROKE
The heat stroke is caused when the body temperature is more than 40 degree Celsius. The signs of heat stroke are anhydrosis, cardiac arrhythmias, disseminated intravascular coagulation, hepatic failure, hyperventilation, pulmonary edema, renal failure, rhabdomyolysis, shock and some of the mental status changes like ataxia, coma, confusion, irritability, seizures. The common heat related illness symptoms are anhydrosis and heat cramps. Heat rashes are caused due to excessive sweating of skin during hot and humid season. There is a possibility that People of all age groups get affected by heat rashes but is most common in young children. Heat rash will appear like a red cluster of pimples or small blisters. The other, symptom heat cramps will cause arms pain, leg pain or abdomen pain.
This mainly affects people who participate in strenuous activities in heat. Heat stroke causes severe headache. Some of the major symptoms of heat stroke are weakness, dizziness, may not sweat, decreased consciousness, elevation in body temperature. Dehydration is also a cause of heat stroke because a dehydrated person may not be able to sweat fast enough to dissipate heat which causes the rise in temperature. The most main symptoms of heat stroke are heart attack and heat exhaustion. The important measure to prevent the heat stroke is to avoid getting dehydrated and to avoid working under hot sun and to maintain the body temperature normal with more amount of water content in the body. Required measures should be taken immediately once the sign of heat stroke is noticed.
